Privacy Policy — Minimal Crimes
Last updated: February 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Minimal Crimes (“the App”, “we”, “the Game”) handles user data. The App is developed and maintained by Giuseppe Pignataro (“Developer”).
1. Data We Collect
Minimal Crimes is designed to work completely offline. We do not collect, transmit, or store any data on remote servers owned by the Developer.
The following data is managed locally on your device only:
- Detective Name: a freely chosen username set in the in-app profile, stored locally via SwiftData.
- Agent Photo: an optional photograph selected from your photo library via the system framework
PhotosUI, stored locally on the device and never transmitted externally. - Game Progress: data related to solved cases, earned coins, medals, rank, and daily streak, stored locally via SwiftData and UserDefaults.
- App Settings: preferences for audio, haptics, and biometric security, stored locally in UserDefaults.
- Premium Purchase Status: information related to the purchase of the Premium Detective Pass, managed locally via StoreKit 2 and Apple’s infrastructure.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
Minimal Crimes does not collect under any circumstances:
- Personally identifiable information (legal name, email address, phone number, postal address).
- Geographic location data.
- Third-party behavioral analytics or tracking data.
- Biometric data (Face ID / Touch ID is handled exclusively by the iOS operating system via the
LocalAuthenticationframework; the App never has access to the biometric data itself). - Cookies or advertising tracking identifiers.
3. System Permissions
The App may request the following system permissions:
| Permission | Purpose | Required |
|---|---|---|
Photo Library (NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription) | Allow the user to choose a profile photo for their Agent card | No (optional) |
Face ID / Touch ID (NSFaceIDUsageDescription) | Protect access to the App with a biometric lock screen | No (optional, can be enabled in Settings) |
| Local Notifications | Send daily reminders and narrative messages from in-game informants | No (optional) |
You may revoke any permission at any time from iOS Settings > Privacy & Security.
4. In-App Purchases
The App offers an in-app purchase called the Premium Detective Pass to unlock additional content. All payments and transactions are handled exclusively by Apple via StoreKit 2. The Developer has no access to your credit card information or any payment details. For information on managing purchases and refunds, please refer to Apple’s refund policy.
5. Local Notifications
The App uses local notifications (not push notifications) to remind you of your daily streak and to simulate narrative messages from in-game informants. These notifications are generated entirely on your device and do not involve any external servers. You can disable them at any time from iOS Settings > Notifications > Minimal Crimes.
6. Third-Party Data Sharing
The Developer does not sell, rent, or share user data with any third parties. The App does not integrate any third-party analytics SDKs (e.g. Firebase, Mixpanel), advertising SDKs, or social login services.
The only third party involved is Apple Inc., solely for the processing of in-app purchases through its StoreKit system, subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy.
7. Children’s Privacy
Minimal Crimes is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required by applicable local law). We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has provided personal data through the App, please contact us at the address below.
8. Data Security
All game data is stored locally on your iOS device, protected by Apple’s operating system security measures (Secure Enclave, disk encryption). The Developer has no remote access to such data under any circumstances.
9. Changes to This Policy
The Developer reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy if significant changes are made to the App. Changes will be communicated via an App Store update note or an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
